God Damn’s brand new single ‘Dead To Me’ - “an utterly addictive guitar-driven belch of a song” - is premiering right now on Clash Magazine! Read the article and listen to the track here.
When Wolverhampton based noise-addicts God Damn played at the Reading Festival this summer they slowly crept the volume up until it was buzzing over the legal limit, bringing their set to screeching, boisterous end. When they played at Leeds Festival the next day, at the climax of their set, guitarist and singer Thom Edward knocked over some amps, turned to walk offstage, had a change of heart and instead returned to smash his guitar to bits, shards of wood piercing his hand. He then smeared the blood all over his face while stage managers screamed at him. NME included their performance in their top ten buzziest bands of the festival list. It’s not hard to see why.
Welcome to the world of God Damn.
Following the critically-acclaimed release of their ‘Vultures’ album earlier this year on One Little Indian Records, God Damn are already gearing up to assault our senses with a brand new recording entitled ‘Dead To Me’. Whilst the ‘Vultures’ album was a sprawling, epic slab of progressive noise-rock, ‘Dead To Me’ is a short, abrupt punch to the guts.
Recorded by Ross Orton (The Fall, Arctic Monkeys, Drenge) at McCall Sound, ‘Dead To Me’ will be available November 20th on One Little Indian Records. Prior to that the band will be hitting the road in October and November for a series of their own gigs, plus dates with Missouri based punk brothers Radkey.
