Waterson & Knight new tour and single with Eliza Carthy
Marry Waterson and Oliver Knight have just announced their second UK tour together, this time supporting their cousin Eliza Carthy who’s distinctive fiddle and lead vocal feature on the new single ‘The Loosened Arrow’ (Out 17th October). Says Marry, “Eliza sings lead (gorgeously) on ‘The Loosened Arrow’. Originally (Aunt) Norma had asked me for a song for their ‘Gift’ album - and we pinched it back later for ‘The Days That Shaped Me’! I sang the tune to Eliza and Oliver who recorded their parts (Oliver on Cello) and we added my layered vocals later. From it’s inception I’d seen this song as quite traditional but love the way it turned out, Oliver’s arrangement / mixing was inspired”.
