The Pond’s new single ‘The River’ - Out Today
The Pond’s new single ‘The River’ is out today.
Widely noted as the album’s standout track, ‘The River’ is the second single to be taken from The Pond’s eponymous debut. The euphoric sparkling pulse is derived from a Pakistani bapang, the “perfect instrument to transport you to the mountains” according to the band.
The Pond is Kathryn Williams - ‘Without doubt one of the most authentic folk voices in the country’ (Q) – and fellow musicians, Simon Edwards and Ginny Clee. Together they have created an album that throws together vintage beats, 60’s pop, tape loops and Eastern notes into the melting pot with Adrian Utley’s mix lending the ultra-vivid melodies a positively Bristolian depth and louché sophistication.
