Ásgeir has been featured in Bearded Magazine’s article ‘Introducing…’, a series that highlights new and original acts. In his article, Larry Day calls Ásgeir a “formidable force” with an “innate talent that few possess”. He praises the new single ‘King and Cross’ and compares Ásgeir’s “spine-trembling” voice to the likes of Bon Iver and Fleet Foxes. Check out the full article here.
At just 21 years of age Icelandic singer-songwriter Ásgeir has become a sensation in his domestic music scene - staggeringly, almost 10% of the Icelandic population now own his debut album ‘Dyrd í dauðathogn’ – the English version, translated by John Grant, will be released worldwide this autumn as ‘In The Silence’. The Icelandic version has now gone triple platinum in Iceland and won Ásgeir 4 Icelandic Music Awards and a nomination for the Nordic Music Prize earlier this year.
