Ásgeir chosen for this weeks Nordic Playlist

Ásgeir’s been chosen as one of the 12 acts for Nordic Playlist No. 25 by the Norwegian collective Highasakite.

Throughout 2014, 52 curators choose and present their favorite fellow artists from the Nordic region to an international audience, who can find the playlist on their favorite streaming service.
This week’s playlist has been curated by the Norwegian collective Highasakite, who has chosen Ásgeir as one of their favorite Icelandic artists.

At just 21 years of age Icelandic singer-songwriter Ásgeir has become a sensation in his domestic musicscene - staggeringly, almost 10% of the Icelandic population now own his debut album ‘Dyrd í dauðathogn’ – the English version, translated by John Grant, was released worldwide on March 4th 2014 as ‘In The Silence’. The Icelandic version has now gone triple platinum in Iceland and won Ásgeir 4 Icelandic Music Awards and a nomination for the Nordic Music Prizeearlier this year.
