Samaris to play ATP Festival + ‘Góða tungl’ grabs MTV’s attention

07 Jan 2014

Samaris have been added to the lineup for ATP Iceland 2014 this summer. Playing alongside Portishead, Interpol, and many others, Samaris take the stage in Keflavík July 10-12.  For tickets and more information click here.

Additionally, MTV Iggy has added Samaris’ single, ‘Góða Tungl’, to their list ‘Universal Language: 7 Songs That Need No Translation’. Click here to read the article and listen to the track.

Formed in 2011 in Reykjavik, within months Samaris had won both the Icelandic Músíktilraunir (past winners include the likes of Of Monsters and Men) and Kraumur Award. The band performed at Iceland Airwaves in 2011 and 2012, attracting the attention of Line Of Best Fit, Drowned In Sound and NPR amongst many others. Singer Jófríður also performs with her sister Ásthildur in the more folk-inclined Pascal Pinion.

Samaris’ self-titled debut album is out now and can be purchased from iTunes or our online store.
