Roger Goula’s ‘Awe’ is out Today!

29 Apr 2016

We are pleased to announce Roger Goula’s sublime first single ‘Awe’, along with accompanying remix from Bristolian producer Phaeleh is now available on all platforms. Listen here.

The Most Radicalist premiered the Phaeleh remix of ‘Awe’, calling the track a “beautifully wretched affair”. Read the article to hear more about the original track, the remix and the new label endeavours between One Little Indian and Manners McDade.

The original track has also received airplay from the likes of Mary Anne Hobbs on BBC 6Music.

Roger Goula is the first artist to release an album on brand new label Cognitive Shift Recordings. The label was born out of collaboration between One Little Indian Records and Manners McDade Music Publishing, home to artists such as Nils Frahm and Throwing Snow; Cognitive Shift Recordings creates a new home for contemporary classical music that has influences and instrumentation within the genre and beyond.

This single encapsulates the ethos of the new label, bridging the gap between modern classical and electronic music, creating a cohesive work that is both entirely of the moment yet timeless. The stunning classical string instrumentation is performed by the illustrious quartet of Thomas Gould, Peter Gregson, Lucy Railton and Stephen Upshaw.
