FLUX OF PINK INDIANS: ‘STRIVE’ DELUXE REISSUE

17 Apr 2013

One Little Indian are proud to re-issue Flux Of Pink Indians’ classic debut album ‘Strive To Survive Causing Least Suffering Possible’ 30 years after its 1983 release on the band’s own Spiderleg label. The release is the 5th in One Little Indians’ Totem Series of limited editions and deluxe reissues.

The double vinyl pressing includes the re-mastered album with the ‘Neu Smell’ EP, produced by Penny Rimbaud as bonus tracks and the band’s original demos, while the 3CD package adds a live set from Shepherds Bush Empire in November 2007, the band reforming for a one-off supporting ex-Crass singer’s Steve Ignorant’s ‘Feeding Of The 5000’ show.

Formed in 1981, Flux - as they later became known - were contemporaries of Crass and synonymous with the strict vegan, anti-capitalism, anti-Thatcher anarcho-punk scene of the time.

The ‘Strive’ line-up comprised Colin Latter (vocals), Derek Birkett (bass guitar), Kevin Hunter (guitars), and Martin Wilson (drums). Birkett later went on to form the One Little Indian label.

All purchases of Strive made through the One Little Indian store come with a 7″ record sized collectors booklet featuring an indepth conversation about the making of the album with Colin Latter (vocals) and Kevin Hunter (guitars) conducted by Sean Forbes from Rough Trade.

Released on Monday 8th July, these packages are now available to pre-order.
