Björk has announced the release of a new live film for her album ‘Biophilia’!
The film was shot during Björk’s September 3rd Biophilia show at the Alexandra Palace in London. It was directed and edited by Peter Strickland & Nick Fenton. Stay posted for news on the film as things are likely to develop fast!
The live film will be premiered on April 27th at the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival - a festival designed to provide a variety of new platforms for how films can be experienced. Supporting filmmakers from all over the world and introducing audiences to films and projects that they might not have been otherwise aware of. The festival is taking place on April 16th to the 27th in New York City.
Björk’s seventh full-length album Biophilia, a multi-media project pairing 10 songs with corresponding iPad Apps, is her most conceptually complex. Track titles read like captions in a textbook—“Moon,” “Thunderbolt,” “Virus,” the first single “Crystalline”—but each piece is filtered through Björk’s personal connection to, and reading of, nature and Musicology. The film will undoubtably follow the ideals that Björk gets across, and we all eagerly await the release!
