A.R.KANE’S ‘COMPLETE SINGLES COLLECTION’ - OUT NOW
A.R.Kane’s ‘Complete Singles Collection’ is out today as part of One Little Indian’s Totem Series.
Releasing their first single ‘When You’re Sad’ on One Little Indian in 1986, A.R.Kane quickly became famed for their dub and jazz inspired brand of lush pop melodies, noisey guitars and feedback, reminding reviewers at the time of The Jesus and Mary Chain. Before long they were featured on the cover of Melody Maker, had a number 1 single as part of M/A/R/R/S (Pump Up The Volume / Anitina) and were selling records by the bucket load. They called their music ‘dreampop’ and with constant playful experimentation over 3 albums they continually evolved through rock, indie, pop, dub, hip-hop and many other styles well into the 90s.
This compilation spans A.R.Kane’s career in singles from that first release through to the bands final single ‘Honey Bee (For Stella)’ in 1994.
As part of Totem Series, all purchases of the album made through the One Little Indian store will come with a 7″ record sized collectors booklet which features a full biography by Simon Reynolds and an exclusive interview with Rudy Tambala about the making of the singles.
The ‘Complete Singles Collection’ is available to buy through the One Little Indian store.
