The Crayonettes

Label: One Little Indian

The brainchild of singer-songwriters (and mums) Kathryn Williams and Anna Spencer (formerly of punk band Delicate Vomit), The Crayonettes’ beginnings were inspired by their young sons’ weird and wonderful imaginations and a weariness of traditional children’s CDs. Meeting in the evening when the kids were in bed, the pair set about writing disco, hip hop and punk songs about pirates taking over buses and robots in the rain, ending up with their debut album ‘Playing Out – Songs For Children and Robots’, which was released in September 2010.
