Easterhouse

Label: Rough Trade Records

Formed in Manchester in the early 1980s, Easterhouse were named after the area in Glasgow of the same name. The creation of the Perry brothers, Andy and Ivor, this Rough Trade act dealt with political issues like Ireland, the Labour Party and the miners strike. They released one album, ‘Contenders’, before going their separate ways. Andy Perry was briefly considered to replace Johnny Marr when he left The Smiths but sessions ended with Morrissey fleeing the studio.
