A.R.Kane

Label: One Little Indian

Releasing their first single ‘When You’re Sad’ on One Little Indian in 1986, A.R.Kane quickly became famed for their dub and jazz inspired brand of lush pop melodies, noisey guitars and feedback, reminding reviewers at the time of The Jesus and Mary Chain. Before long they were featured on the cover of Melody Maker, had a number 1 single as part of M/A/R/R/S (Pump Up The Volume / Anitina) and were selling records by the bucket load. They called their music ‘dreampop’ and with constant playful experimentation over 3 albums they continually evolved through rock, indie, pop, dub, hip-hop and many other styles well into the 90s.

The Complete Singles Collection compilation spans A.R.Kane’s career in singles from that first release through to the bands final single ‘Honey Bee (For Stella)’ in 1994.
