Dan Sartian Tour • indian.co.uk/dansartaintour

Matt Whitson Filmmaker and collaborator with Dan Plate Six and One Little Indian

When Matt Whitson isn't editing documentaries for public TV or recording bands on the cheap in his parents' basement, he's busy
biting off more than he can chew on various music related video projects in and around Birmingham, AL. His latest's are Dan Sartain's
video for "Thought it Over," the "Dan Sartain Lives" DVD out on One Little Indian this Autumn and "Turn Darryl Up," a live
video compilation of bands performing at Cave 9 in Birmingham. Zeus willing, it will be released this summer on House of Love Records out of Birmingham.

“Dan Sartain – storyteller supreme and master of illusion, a pencil-‘tached minstrel throwing the mundane into his hat and drawing out colour and drama, people and places, which bare, dismal reality cannot compete with.” NME

Recently branded ‘the punk Elvis’ by i-D Magazine, Alabama troubadour Dan Sartain returns to the UK and Europe in February 2007, bringing with him his own unique brand of snarling, spitting rockabilly which has earned him high praise in the wake of his latest album ‘Join Dan Sartain’.

The seven UK dates kick off in Cambridge on Thursday 1st February and complete on Wednesday 7th February with a very special performance at the legendary 100 Club in London before they head out to Europe for a further month long tour.

This tour will coincide with the release of the second single to be taken from the album THE FLIGHT OF THE FINCH Released on 29th January available nation-wide via the shops and through onelittleshop.com

PLATE SIX will be Dan’s backing band on this tour as well as playing their own main show. Not so much of a far stretch as David Hickox, lead singer of Plate Six, is Dan’s bass player and will be remembered as much for adding the bass-lines to Dan’s live show last time as for his beard.
This tour will coincide with the release of their new album BATTLE HYMNS FOR A NEW REPUBLIC through One Little Indian Records on 16th April.
The Plate Six presence on this tour will take Dan Sartain's show in a new direction: harder, more brash and punk than we saw on his last round.
The tour will be supported by TWO TEARS another collaborator of Sartain’s. Dan Sartain and Brad from Plate Six will take turns backing up this one-woman phenomenon on the drums for her set.
